Artist Profile

     I was born in Kavala, Greece in 1995. I studied Fine Arts and Art Science in the Univercity of Ioannina, Greece from 2013 until 2019. During this period I chose painting as my main study subject but at the same time I worked on more art media such as sketches and comics, graphic design, video art, photography, engraving and installations. However my thesis focused on painting because it has always been my passion. Also, from Ferbruary to July of 2017 I studied as an Erasmus student at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, Italy. These months really helped me to broaden my ideas and my point of view on art studying the anatomy of human body ,painting and also learning from my teachers.

Currently I am conducting my 10-month internship at Cultural Center Stavros Niarchos Foundation as a photographer in the National Library of Greece.

     My artistic language and subjects revolve around the emblazonment of human figures which I place in a  crowd. The creation of these figures comes from the observation and deformation of everyday life but also from personal experiences and my subconscious.

Through the creation of my work, I’m looking for tension, the contrast of textures and colors but also the mystery which features and describes my paintings. Another thing that interests me is the relationships of those figures, their interaction and their feelings.

At the same time I am interested in the visual alteration either by engraving the surface of the painting or by deforming the color and the figures that I paint. This distortion symbolizes the subjective perception of reality and the lack of transparency in the human condition.
